Bishop Robert J. Cunningham would like to inform the people of the diocese of the following 2016 clergy changes:

Rev. William Jones, previously Parochial Vicar of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Syracuse, retired, effective January 1. He continues to serve at the Cathedral.

Rev. Christopher R. Seibt, previously Parochial Vicar of St. Rose of Lima Church in North Syracuse, was appointed Parochial Vicar of the Church of Ss. John & Andrew in Binghamton, effective Feb. 1.

Rev. Joseph H. Phillips retired from the Office of the Propagation of the Faith, effective March 4.

Deacon Gregory Cross, diocesan Director of Deacon Personnel, was additionally appointed Director of Pontifical Missions, effective April 15.

Rev. James H. Carey, Pastor of the Church of the Nativity at St. Leo’s in Tully, Immaculate Conception in Pompey, and St. Joseph’s in LaFayette, was additionally appointed Administrator of St. Patrick’s Mission in Otisco, and Corpus Christi in South Onondaga, effective April 26.

Rev. Lukasz R. Kozlowski, Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Utica, was additionally appointed Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of the Rosary in New Hartford, and Chaplain, Army Reserves, effective May 2.

Rev. Theinan Tran, previously Chaplain, U.S. Air Force, began a leave of absence, effective May 2.

Rev. Severine P. Yagaza, previously Extern, Diocese of Tanga, Tanzania, incardinated into the Diocese of Syracuse, effective May 15.

Deacon Matthew Lyons was ordained to the Transitional Diaconate May 28.

Rev. Christopher J. Ballard, previously Administrator of St. James Church in Syracuse, was appointed pastor of the parish, effective May 31.

Rev. Kenneth R. Kirkman was ordained to the priesthood June 4 and appointed Parochial Vicar of St. Mary’s Church in Cortland together with the merged parish worship site at St. Anthony of Padua, effective July 1.

Rev. Peter F. Tassini was ordained to the priesthood June 4 and appointed Parochial Vicar of St. Matthew’s Church in East Syracuse, with the linked parishes of St. Mary’s in Minoa, and St. Francis of Assisi in Bridgeport, effective July 1.

Rev. Robert B. Stephenson, previously Parochial Vicar of the Church of the Nativity in LaFayette, retired, effective June 30.

Rev. Msgr. Francis A. Osei-Nyarko, previously Parochial Vicar of Holy Family Parish in Syracuse, was appointed Parochial Vicar of St. Rose of Lima in North Syracuse, effective July 1.

Rev. Thomas Honold, previously Administrator/Extern of Our Lady of the Rosary in New Hartford, retired effective July 1.

Rev. Joseph A. Salerno, Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes in Utica, was additionally appointed Pastor of the linked parish of Our Lady of the Rosary in New Hartford, effective July 1.

Rev. Guy T. Baccaro, Pastor of St. Paul’s Church in Oswego, was additionally appointed Canonical Pastor of St. Joseph and St. Stephen the King in Oswego, effective July 1.

Rev. Gregory Kreinheder, previously Pastor of St. Joseph and St. Stephen the King in Oswego, began a leave of absence effective July 1.

Rev. John Canorro, previously Pastor of St. Anne, Mother of Mary in Mexico, Christ Our Light in Pulaski, and Holy Trinity in Fulton, has been appointed Pastor of Holy Trinity in Fulton, effective Aug. 1.

Rev. James A. Schultz, previously Parochial Vicar of Holy Trinity in Fulton, St. Anne, Mother of Mary in Mexico, and Christ Our Light in Pulaski, has been appointed Administrator of St. Anne, Mother of Mary in Mexico, and Christ Our Light in Pulaski, effective Aug. 1.

Deacon Nicholas Alvero, previously Deacon of Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Joseph in Liverpool, has been appointed Administrator of St. Joseph and St. Stephen the King in Oswego, effective Aug. 1.
