Now, applying for a job with the diocese or registering for Pre-Cana is just a click away!

Those interested in employment with the diocese can now complete their applications online by visiting http://syracusediocese.org/job-opportunities/. Applicants even have the option to attach a cover letter and resume to the easy-to-use online form.

“The job opportunities page is one of the most visited pages on the website, and we wanted to capture a candidate’s interest right at the time they are viewing our opportunities. By streamlining the process, an individual can now complete their application and upload their resume and cover letter in just a couple of clicks! We have already seen an increase in applications submitted,” said Rosemary Smith, Manager of Human Resources and Benefits.

Potential candidates may also complete an application for employment in a diocesan Catholic school by visiting http://syracusediocese.org/schools/job-opportunities/.

The vocation of marriage is an exciting adventure through which faithful couples will create a new family, increase their love for one another, and grow in their love for Christ. Here in the Diocese of Syracuse, the Office of Family Life Education will now offer newly-engaged couples the option to register for Pre-Cana Marriage Preparation classes online. The goal of online registration, says Lisa Hall, Director of the Office of Family Life, is to make the process “faster and easier.”

“We hope this will ease one small aspect of wedding planning stress and encourage even more couples to sign up!” Hall said.

For those who may be recently engaged or unfamiliar with Pre-Cana, couples are first required to meet with the priest or deacon at the parish where they will be getting married. Even Catholic couples who are getting married outside of the diocese are required to meet with a priest or deacon to ensure that they meet all requirements for Pre-Cana. Classes fill up fast, said Hall — usually as far as six weeks in advance, so couples are encouraged to register early. Pre-Cana classes are intended for both the bride and groom, and are offered in all four regions of the diocese. The cost for Pre-Cana is $75. To learn more and to register, couples may visit http://syracusediocese.org/offices/family-life-education/marriage-preparation/. A calendar of all Pre-Cana sessions in each region is available on the right-hand side of the web page.
