A “Day of Renewal,” including a Mass that fulfills the Sunday obligation, is scheduled for Oct. 30 in East Syracuse.

The speakers will be Dan Dirkes and Caroline Gambale-Dirkes, and Father Amedeo Guida.

Dan Dirkes has been involved in youth ministry and music ministry since 1997. Since moving to New Jersey in 2002, the native of Ann Arbor, Mich., has worked as the coordinator of youth ministry at St. Veronica’s Church in Howell. Currently he serves as music minister at St. Lawrence the Martyr Parish in Chester.

Caroline Gambale-Dirkes is Dan’s wife. Her motto is “You need to do the ridiculous to see the miraculous.”  Sharing stories such as how she evangelized two New York Giants football players, she keeps her audience engaged. A graduate of the Franciscan University of Steubenville, she does multigenerational evangelization through 2Tim4 Ministries, which she co-founded with her husband. She has spoken internationally at diocesan rallies, retreats, and conferences.

Father Guida is the Charismatic Liaison for the Diocese of Syracuse. He is involved in healing and deliverance ministry, preaching, directing retreats, and serving as a spiritual director. He also serves as a weekend associate at Sacred Heart Church in Cicero.

The day will provide praise, worship, prophecy, and healing. It is set for 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at Traditions Restaurant, 5900 Burdick St., East Syracuse. The Mass starts at 4:30 p.m.

The cost of $45 includes a continental breakfast and a hot lunch. Send a check payable to Charismatic Renewal-West to Teresa Brusa, 4888 Abbottsbury Lane, Syracuse, N.Y., 13215. Call her for information at (315) 373-0771.
