Pastors, deacons, religious, catechists, Catholic School teachers, youth ministers and ministry coordinators are invited to participate in the “Hearts on a Mission” Conference, presented by the diocese’s Eastern Region Office of Fath Formation and sponsored by Pflaum Publishing and Our Sunday Visitor. The conference will be held Oct. 24 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 66 Oxford Road, New Hartford, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $20.

The keynote address will be offered by Dr. Saundra Kennedy, Our Sunday Visitor’s senior national curriculum consultant. Kennedy’s talk will address answering the call to evangelize and becoming the best “herald of the Good News.”

Kevin Dowd, of Pflaum Publishing, will present on bullying and how religious leaders can and should help to address the issue.

The conference will also feature workshop presentations on a variety of topics, from planning liturgies to sharing local best practices to learning more about Pope Francis’ encyclical “Laudato Si’.”
