BINGHAMTON — Seton Catholic Central’s boys and girls basketball players participated in the second annual Hoops for Haiti fundraiser Jan. 15, raising $10,100 to support the volunteer work of the students and faculty who will be traveling to Haiti in mid-February.Each player had the opportunity to shoot 20 foul shots and secured pledges for every shot made. The modified, junior varsity and varsity teams participated in the fundraiser.

“The Seton school community is impressed and overwhelmed by the generosity of those who pledged funds to support this important charitable work, said Richard Bucci, president of the Catholic Schools of Broome County.

This is the second visit to Haiti in this school year for Seton’s students and faculty. Those wishing to support this effort can make checks out to Seton Catholic Central and note Haiti in the memo box. Checks can be mailed to 70 Seminary Ave., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
