The Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities will hold a Creation Celebration Sunday, Oct. 2, at the Spirituality and Nature Center at Alverna Heights.

Bring a friend or the whole family and celebrate God’s creation. All are welcome at the 1-5 p.m. event at 1 Alverna Heights Road, Fayetteville.  Donations are accepted.

Planned are arts and crafts; exploration of the pond, grasslands, and forest; games; a tour of prayer spaces, the retreat center, and meditation trails; presentations for adults; and displays from local organizations. Visitors will also learn about recycling.

The center has a hospitality program allowing others to share in the beauty and peace of God’s creation. A well-trained staff offers guidance and direction with activities for groups of all ages. Confirmation groups, Scouts, and others can earn credit hours when involved with center activities. Trails through the grasslands provide a quiet reflective atmosphere while the wooded area is filled with glimpses of nature in the wild. Visitors are welcome to use the Nature Center.
