Blessing of the animals

The “dog-days” of summer may be over but that didn’t stop dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and a host of other animals from coming out for the Blessing of the Animals. The blessing was held in celebration of the Feast of St. Francis of Assi at parishes throughout the diocese.

Several furry friends with their owners received a blessing by Father Richard Riccioli, OFM Conv., from Assumption Church in Syracuse.
