The rivalry has earned the title “Battle of the Bishops.” Each matchup between Bishop Ludden Jr./Sr. High School and Bishop Grimes Jr./Sr. High School brings its own unique excitement.

Entering the Dec. 8 showdown, the Bishop Ludden girls basketball team held a 1-1 record, beating Marcellus and losing to Christian Brothers Academy. Bishop Grimes held the same 1-1 record, with a victory over Skaneateles and a loss to Central Square.

The game was evenly matched throughout the first half, with both teams grabbing a lead but neither pulling away. Bishop Ludden came out of the halftime break hot, moving the ball efficiently and capitalizing on several three pointers. They pulled out to a 15-point lead entering the fourth quarter and never looked back. Bishop Ludden outscored Bishop Grimes by 18 in the second half, cruising to a 63-40 victory.

With the victory, Bishop Ludden improves to 2-1 on the season and Bishop Grimes falls to 1-2 on the campaign.
